SAFFRON French Toast RECIPE - MAISON BOTEH

 

Preparation time: 30 minutes

 

Ingredients
6 to 8 slices of bread / 6 eggs / 3 tablespoons of sugar / 2 tablespoons of rose water / 55 g of butter

 

For garnish:
2 tablespoons of rose water / A pinch of saffron pistils / Sugar (optional)

 

Instructions

- Cut your bread slices into squares (remove the crusts if necessary) and toast them.

- Beat the eggs until the mixture is homogeneous and pass them through a sieve into a dish.

- Add the sugar and 2 tablespoons of rose water.

- Mix well.

- Let the bread slices rest in the mixture for 10 minutes on each side.

- Meanwhile, prepare the filling by mixing the saffron pistils with the rose water. Let it steep for at least 10 minutes while you prepare the rest.

- Melt the butter in a pan.

- Fry for 2 to 3 minutes, monitoring the cooking.

- Before serving, you can filter the saffron/rose water mixture. Pour it over the bread and sprinkle with sugar.
